When a powerful hurricane hits the Gulf Coast of Texas and plunges the region into darkness without any signs of power being restored any time soon, Holly (an engineer recently transplanted to Houston) realizes that civilized society is on the brink of chaos. She narrowly escapes attack only to have her car die part of the way to her sister’s house in the Hill Country. Unbeknownst to her, terrorists are using Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) devices under the cover of the hurricane in an attempt to bring the United States to its knees. Holly accidentally teams up with two agents from the FBI’s Department of Environmental Terrorism to stop the attack. With the master device offshore, and all electronics disabled by the EMP’s, her little sailboat may be the last hope for the country’s power grid, and its sanity. Can they stop the terrorists before the damage is too extensive?
